Dog's Life

George Bush is visiting India and so are his dogs. Hey, I aint referring to his delegation but the sniffer dogs. Just read this excerpt from a daily and then envy the dog's life:

New Delhi, March 1: Special suites have been booked in the Maurya Sheraton and Le Meridien hotels in New Delhi for US Secret Service dogs with military ranks that are accompanying US President George W. Bush on his visit to India.Sources have confirmed that these dogs, with ranks of sergeant-major, first lieutenant, second lieutenant, third lieutenant and fourth lieutenant, will have rooms on the same floor on which President Bush is likely to stay. Police officers said this is an important part of the security arrangements.
“We were told to be careful while addressing the animals and not call them dogs. These sniffer dogs are an integral part of the US President’s security team. We have been instructed to address them as per their ranks,” said a member of the Maurya Sheraton hotel staff.
Seventeen well-trained sniffer dogs are said to be accompanying President Bush. It could not be ascertained whether Indian policemen would be required to salute these sniffer dogs. It has been confirmed that 10 are staying at the Maurya Sheraton and seven at the Le Meridien. They have got separate hotel rooms and are being provided with all the facilities enjoyed by the 700-member US security contingent. Hotel employees were unwilling to indicate the dogs’ food preferences and whether their meals would be served on trays.
